The sum of my instrumental skills are that I can play "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" on the guitar; I can one-finger "Yankee Doodle Dandy" on the piano - with almost no mistakes; and, I can play "Home On The Range" on my cheek with a pencil. Other than that... I'm a singer... or I was a singer.
I actually took a guitar course in college and got an A, but that doesn't mean much. However, I learned how to play it well enough that I practiced one song ("My Sweet Lady" by John Denver) at least a hundred times before I sang to my first wife (Chris) at our wedding reception. Other than that, I took violin lessons as a kid... but I stunk. I even took a few piano lessons because my mom was a good piano player... but I stunk. When it comes to musical intruments... I stink a lot!
I’ve been a singer all my life. We were too poor to afford much, but I remember taking singing lessons when I was a kid. As I got into high school, I sang in the choir and was selected to the KMEA State Choir. Later on, I sang in the church choir. I tended to think of my voice as similar to James Taylor or Jim Croce – which if it was… wasn’t too bad.
Before I list the subcategories, I wanted to mention that in my humble opinion, the following three songs are the greatest versions of any songs ever written with the all-time best - Over The Rainbow by Katharine McPhee.
Over The Rainbow - Katharine McPhee
Below are five subcategories under "Music" which are linkable on the left column, but I'm including them here as well.
